Our Pastor
Rev. Marcus T. Zill was born in St. Louis, MO in 1966, the last of four children to Marcus and Marilyn (nee Koch) Zill. He was baptized at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, Afton, MO and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Ellisville, MO. Pastor Zill was graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA in 1988 with a degree in secondary education and proceeded to teach seventh grade social studies in Charlotte, NC for three years, while also coaching soccer and serving as the youth director at a local LCMS congregation. He then attended Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, IN, during which time he served a campus ministry vicarage at the University of Oklahoma. Upon finishing his seminary education in 1996, Pastor Zill first served as pastor of a dual parish, Faith Lutheran, Glasgow, MT and Trinity Lutheran, Wolf Point, MT.
He was installed at St. Andrew's in December of 1998. Pastor Zill has served on several national campus ministry committees, and as the Youth Facilitator of the Wyoming District. He was also the site coordinator for the historic Dying to Live National Lutheran Youth Conference held in Laramie in July, 2000. He continues to serve on the Wyoming District Youth Committee and is also the chairmen of the Wyoming District Pastor's Conference.
 Pastor Zill has been involved in several capacities with Higher Things since its conception: BOD Member, Vice President, Web Committee and Public Relations Director. He presently serves as the Executive of Christ on Campus, the campus ministry arm of Higher Things. He also was the Conference Coordinator for the 2006 Conference, The Feast, in Colorado Springs! He is married seventeen years to Bethany (married June 16, 1990 in Wildrose, ND) and they have been blessed with two sons, Sterling (10) and Grant (8). Bethany is a very talented western/bluegrass singer and yodeler, and co-producer of the national parent's choice award winning video series, All About Cowboys for Kids. Her latest album is entitled "Where Roots Run Deep." When Pastor Zill is not busy dressing up as a Matrix action hero, he is really quite serious. No, really!
