Our Sextons

In the past St. Andrew's was served by "Center Managers", married couples that lived in the attached apartment and served as the primary caretakers of the facilities. While that program served St. Andrew's well over the years, our congregation has a proposal before the District to develop a sexton program utilizing single LCMS students who would live here on the premises, while working as a team to both care for the facilities and engage in outreach and service. While that and related matters are being discussed at the District level, during the past two years we have been making a trial run at such a program. At present, four male students are living on site and involved in the duties previously reserved for a married couple. The sextons meet weekly with our Trustee, Sue Koller (and sometimes Pastor Zill and President Hu) to coordinate cleaning, discuss how things are going, and plan for future projects. Serving as sextons for 2007-2008 are (in the picture from left to right) Emery Witt, Will Lehmann, Dan Brose and Timothy Witt. Be sure to say "hi" to them if you see them around St. Andrew's!
